1972 NL Standings and League Leaders

July 24, 1972

News Recap and League Leaders in the NL at the All Star break. Chicago Cub Billy Williams continues to impress with his hitting this season. His 33 homeruns at the break are the most in MLB and he's on a pace to hit 59. Still in the running for a Triple Crown season, he's being pushed by Cincinnati's Johnny Bench in RBI and is currently 2nd in the NL for top BA. William's teammate Ferguson Jenkins leads the NL in Wins with 14, but it's Philadelphia's Steve Carlton who has been putting up the most impressive pitching stats while playing for a sub .500 team.
