1972 MLB All-Star Game

July 25, 1972

This years All-Star game was played at Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta. It was played later than usual due to the delay of the start of the 1972 season. The visiting AL All-Stars got off to a bang in the 1st inning, scoring 4 runs on 4 hits off NL starter Fergie Jenkins. After 3 straight singles and a strikeout, Detroit's Norm Cash hit a grand slam homerun. That would be all the scoring the AL would need as they defeated the NL 7-2.
