Dave Giusti shut Oakland down at Three Rivers Stadium as the Pittsburgh
Pirates beat the Oakland A's by the count of 9 to 8.

Pittsburgh won the game with a rally in the 8th inning with 3 runs using 3
hits. Al Oliver led off and he slapped a one-base hit. After an out was
recorded, Bob Robertson came to bat and ripped a base-hit. Vic Davalillo
then lost the ball over the fence for three runs. Giusti was perfect in the
ninth giving him his 3rd save on the season.

Ramon Hernandez(1-0) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Rollie Fingers(1-1) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 3 hits
